Dear Aangen Community,
I hope all of you are well. What a wonderfully active Spring we've had at Aangen. We'd love to invite you to our cafe's mural launch celebration at McCormick Park on June 17th. We will have a special Wednesday night dinner featuring local, homemade Empanadas & we'll be launching our fully vegetarian menu as well.
Spring Yard Sale @ McCormick Park
We would love to thank the Brockton Community for organizing such a fantastic yard sale event on Saturday May 23. Aangen took part in the fun this year as we moved our annual yard sale to Brock Ave. We met amazing people, recycled old treasures to new homes and raised over $800 for Aangen's outreach initiatives. I would also love to thank our team of volunteers for waking up early and keeping a smile on all day, it was a pleasure to work with you. Thank you to all of you wonderful shoppers who took the time to listen about the work we do and for shopping with a purpose! It was a beautiful day and an amazing event.
With all your generosity and support, we've been able to do wonders in our Families in Need and Global Orphanage Programs. Please enjoy the Aangen program updates from Heather Maciel, our wonderful and ever resourceful Program Coordinator. We are filled with gratitude to our wonderful community for your support that allows us to touch lives locally and globally.

Aangen has new direct numbers:

We are very fortunate to connect with and meet so many wonderful people who are spreading love around the world. Most recently, we have added two new partner agencies to our Global Orphanage Program. 'From Joy, With Love' was started by an inspirational and compassionate 24 year old woman whose mother grew up in an orphanage. Maria Joy felt a strong desire to help and care for orphaned children in multiple parts of Asia, as she believes everyone needs love.
The Uluru Children's Home in India approached Aangen with the hopes that together we would be able to create a bright future for the children. Education is an imperative factor in the development and future of a child, not only in the impoverished areas but everywhere in the world.
Families in Need
At Aangen, we believe it is our purpose and our true nature to help people. This comes in many forms: finding housing, employment, legal support or even simply listening and extending a helping hand. Whatever the solution looks like it is our desire to help families get to a place where they are living the lives they truly love. Aangen was able to help 6 families in the last few months with housing, employment, status, legal and grocery support. We are devoted to ensuring the well being of the families we support is at the forefront.
Bring Back Our Girls – Petition
Andrew Cash, MP has been devoted to effecting change not only in our own country but around the world. After hearing of the insurgency taking place in Nigeria, with over 200 school girls being kidnapped, I decided to use my voice and my words to write a letter to our government. This petition caught the attention of NDP MP Andrew Cash and it is now making its way to The House of Commons in Ottawa. Nobody should ever be stripped of their right to freedom or their right to an education. We cannot stay silent about the issues that matter.
Some women and children have been rescued from what is believed to be Boko Haram's base camp. However, there is no confirmation on the rescue of the missing Chibok School Girls.
Twenty-one of the escaped school girls from Chibok now study at the University of Nigeria on all-encompassing scholarships.
We continue to keep the faith and work in love towards the safe return of all of the school girls, the displaced people and children in Nigeria. Please sign & share our petition.
